Taumatotara Wind Farm

Taumatotara is a greenfield utility-scale onshore wind generation project which will produce approximately 136,000 MWh of renewable electricity each year.

The wind farm is located on pastoral farmland 10km south of Taharoa Village and above the Taumatatotara Gorge in the Waitomo District.

Besides accelerating decarbonization and combatting climate change with new green energy, Ventus has committed more than $2 million to ecology, community and cultural initiatives within the Waitomo district. Taumatotara will create local skilled employment and increase electricity supply in the Waikato region.
