Slieve Callan

Slieve Callan develpment rights of 27MW was sold to Brookfield Renewables who have successfully built and commissioned that project with 11 x N90 Nordex turbines.   Sleive Callan has recently been sold onto Mitsubishi UFJ Lease & Finance Company Limited.

Knockstanna Wind Farm

The completed project is located in east County Limerick adjacent to the Slieve Felim Mountains.

Four GE 1.5s machines were constructed in 2009 along a ridgeline to exploit the predominant south-westerly wind that comes in from the North Atlantic.

The project produces enough electricity to power 8000 Irish houses. The grid connection is via an 11km overhead line to the ESB sub-station at Cappamore.

Ventus sold the project to Airtricity who have subsequently been bought out by Scottish and Southern Energy.
